Scanner not working

Problem

You're having a problem with your scanner: it won't turn on, won't scan, or is no longer recognised by the tablet.


Verification steps


1. Unplug and reconnect the scanner

  • The scanner is generally powered via a USB socket.
  • Unplug it then plug it back in to force a restart
  • Wait a few seconds, then try reading a barcode again


2. Check Bluetooth on the tablet

  • Open the tablet settings
  • Make sure Bluetooth is activated
  • If this is not the case, activate it
  • Then try reconnecting the scanner

If the scanner is still not detected, it may need to be reconfigured.


3. Reconfiguring the scanner

  • Make sure you have the installation sheet supplied with the scanner.
  • This sheet contains 3 barcodes to be scanned in a precise order
  • Scan these codes in the order shown to reset the scanner configuration
