A good customer, a neighbour or a commercial gesture?
Here's how to easily give a discount on an item on a ticket 😉
- Important: Discounting is a sensitive operation and is linked to a user right. We advise you to exercise caution before granting this right to a user.
- Tip: For better tracking of discounts, we recommend that you always add reasons for discounts via the settings panel.

Apply a manual discount to an item
Hello, everyone!
Today, we will see how to apply a manual discount to an item during a sale at the checkout.
Objective
Apply a discount (e.g., 15%) to a specific item in a current ticket.
Steps to follow
- Create your ticket and add the items.
- Click on the line for the relevant item (e.g. Sparkling water).
- A tab will open → click on Discount.
- In the window:
- Select a pre-configured discount,
- or enter a discount percentage manually.
- (Optional but recommended) Select a reason for discount for tracking purposes (e.g., Good customer).
- Click on Validate.
- The discount is applied to the item and visible on the receipt.
- Finalise the sale by closing the ticket.
Result
- De korting wordt alleen toegepast op het geselecteerde artikel.
- The ticket clearly states the discount and the reason (if provided).
Best practices
- Encourage the use of reasons for discount to ensure proper follow-up.
- Restrict manual discounts to authorised users.
- Always check the total before confirming the sale.
