Create and use a discount reason


To control how discounts are applied, you can set up discount reasons via the cash register.

We explain how to do this easily and also how to make the reason for the discount mandatory at the time of sale 😉

Create a discount reason in your checkout

Hello, everyone!

Today, you will learn how to create a discount reason in your POS system and how to make it mandatory for your users.


Create a discount reason

  1. Go to Settings → Delivery reason.
  2. Click on Add reason for discount in the top right corner.
  3. Enter the name of the reason (e.g., Offered, Good customer).
    • You can use the arrows to automatically copy the name into the 3 languages (FR, NL, EN).
  4. Click Save.

➡️ You can repeat these steps to create as many reasons as necessary.


Make reason selection mandatory

  1. Go to Settings → Users.
  2. Click on the relevant user.
  3. In the rights on the right, locate the Return without reason option.
    • Enabled ✅: the user can apply discounts without giving a reason.
    • Disabled ❌: the user must select a reason to validate the discount.
  4. Click Save.


Cash register results

  • When a discount is applied:
    • If the option is mandatory, a reason selection window will open.
    • Without a valid reason, the discount cannot be applied.


Why is this useful?

  • Better traceability of discounts granted.
  • Stronger control over commercial practices.
  • An effective tool for analysing sales performance by user.
