Network standard

To deploy a RESTOMAX cash register, we strongly recommend setting up a separate network dedicated to the cash register, even if there is already an existing network installed by the internet service provider. This ensures good communication between the different solutions, prevents unauthorised persons from changing the cash register's network configuration, and enables effective remote support thanks to the network standard.

Network configuration prerequisites

  • Dedicated Gigabit router for the RESTOMAX network
  • Gigabit Ethernet network cables for connecting printers, control terminals and other devices with an Ethernet connection to the router.

We always prefer wired connections to Wi-Fi for stability reasons.

The RESTOMAX network standard

For the configuration of this network, we establish a standard that will greatly facilitate the work of support in detecting any malfunctions and updating solutions, particularly in the case of an ecosystem with multiple cash registers, pocket devices or order terminals.

With the exception of Pocket devices, which can be set to DHCP, all other network devices such as cash registers, terminals and printers must be configured with a FIXED IP address. Printers will NOT work correctly with DHCP, as you must specify the IP address in the various apps.

IP addresses: we use 172.29.29.xx by default with a specific range for the various devices listed below

VLAN Pocket

When deploying pocket devices with antennas, it is essential to create VLANs in order to ensure optimal operation and avoid connection instability.
