Create a simple item from the checkout
Hello, everyone! Today, I'm going to show you how to create a simple item directly from your cash register.
What is a simple article?
A simple item is a product that you sell at a fixed price and by the unit.
To create it, four pieces of information are required:
✅ The name
✅ The sale price
✅ Applicable VAT
✅ The hierarchy (family or category, e.g. drinks, starters, desserts)
Steps to create a simple article
- Access creation
- Go to Settings → Articles
- Click on Add article (top right)
- Enter basic information
- Name → E.g. Grenadine water➤ You can enter the name in English, Dutch, and French, or use the arrows to copy the French name.
- Hierarchy → E.g. Non-alcoholic beverages➤ This allows you to categorise your items for statistical purposes.
- Selling price (including VAT) → E.g. £2.50
- VAT → E.g. 21% on site, 6% takeaway for non-alcoholic beverages
- Save the article➤ Click Save to save the article.
Possible advanced options
The system also allows you to configure:
- Items with variable prices (price set at the time of sale)
- Items with variable quantities (sold by weight)
- Items with barcodes (ideal for shops)
- Items with preparation notes (for the kitchen or bar)
- Stock-managed items
