Currently, RESTOMAX POS runs on Android 10 & iOS 15 or newer systems and the devices listed below.

In general, opt for models that are less than three years old to guarantee the best experience for your customers.

Android :

We recommend using SAMSUNG tablets and smartphones for their performance and reliability. RESTOMAX POS requires Android 10 for optimal performance.

Recommended Samsung models:

• Samsung TAB A Series (A7, A8, A9, etc., non-lite): for use with a menu of around 100 items with a few simple options such as cooking methods or sauces, and limited to a maximum of 1 or 2 pockets to ensure a good user experience.

We do not recommend the LITE series, which uses very low-performance processors.

• Samsung TAB S Series (S7, S8, S9, …FE included): for all uses, greater comfort and performance

We recommend these models, which offer the advantage of larger screen sizes and better performance, particularly for large maps and complex layouts or multiple slave or pocket boxes.

• Samsung Xcover series: for use in pocket mode, offering the advantages of being shockproof and water-resistant. It also has an NFC module for contactless payments via a Softpos payment app. The PRO model offers a very high level of performance, ideal for high-volume establishments.

Other models:

• Ciontek CS50: For combined use, order taking and payment terminal, receipt printing. Very attractive for its all-in-one features, this model is not shockproof or waterproof and performs below the Samsung series, so we recommend it for indoor use with low to medium throughput.

• Sunmi: P2, T2S, and V2S are compatible but sometimes use older versions of Android that are not recommended. Please note that you will need to go through the SUNMI store to download the app.

❗Important :

• We always recommend using devices that are compatible with the Google Play Store in order to receive automatic updates.

Apple IOS : 

All iPads are compatible as long as they support version 15 or higher.

As Apple does not easily allow remote control of devices, we prefer to offer Android tablets.

❗Important :

• We request that Android and Apple systems never be mixed within the same establishment in order to avoid any operational issues. This is because the two systems use their own versions and Android evolves more quickly, which may cause malfunctions.

Cash drawers

RESTOMAX is compatible with a wide range of models; we generally use products from the Safescan brand.

The 2 most popular models:

LD4141 – standard size 41 cm wide, with 4 slots for notes and 8 for coins

LD3633 – reduced size, 33 cm wide, with 3 slots for notes and 8 for coins

To operate, the drawer must be connected to the ticket printer via an RJ11 cable supplied with the drawer. When payment is collected, the printer sends an electrical impulse to the drawer to open it.

Stand

We use metal stands with integrated printer housings to ensure that the product is resistant to everyday use and that the tablet remains stable.

Ticket printers & preparation slips

Only printers on a local network that already have a built-in Ethernet port are compatible with RESTOMAX.

Card readers, badge readers & cashless payment systems

RESTOMAX uses MIFARE technology for card or badge reading.

Model without display: ACR ACR1281U-C1

It will require the addition of a USB-C adapter (e.g. ACT AC7053) to power the reader and tablet simultaneously.

Model with display: ACR122L

It will require the addition of a USB-C docking station (e.g. Kensington SD4839P) to power the reader and tablet simultaneously. This will also allow other peripherals to be powered, and will help to conceal cables and secure the various components.

Barcode scanner

Wireless model: DS2278

Connected via Bluetooth, it functions as a virtual keyboard.

⚠️Remember to enable the keyboard display on the tablet via the system settings > D2278 physical keyboard.

Model with wire: DS2278

This model will require a USB-C adapter to connect to the tablet (example ACT 7053).

Connected scale

To connect the scale to the local network, a Moxa RS232 – RJ45 adapter must be connected.
