A special topping for your ice cream, an extra side dish with your meat, a second sauce with your chips
… Does that appeal to you?
Here is an effective way to increase your average basket value with paid offers!
You also improve the efficiency of your front-of-house service 🙂
Here we explain how to create them on your items at checkout.
Create a paid proposal from the checkout
Hello, everyone! Today, we're going to learn how to set up a paid offer on your cash register.
What is a paid proposal?
This is an option that allows you to add paid options or extras to a main item.
👉 Example: For one scoop of ice cream, the customer can add whipped cream, chocolate chips or sprinkles, and the final price increases automatically.
Steps for creating an affordable proposal
- Access settings
Go to Settings → Suggestions
Click on Add proposal
- Name the proposal
For example: Ice cream topping
Use the arrow to copy the name in Dutch and English if you do not wish to translate it.
- Select the type of proposal
Select Multi Select to allow multiple choices (e.g. whipped cream + chocolate chips)
- Set minimum and maximum values
Minimum item: 0 (the customer can proceed without selecting any toppings)
Maximum items: 2 (limit of 2 toppings per sale, for example)
- Enable the ‘retrieve price’ option.
Tick Retrieve prices to have the prices of toppings automatically added to the total.
- Add items to group
Click on Articles → Add
Select the toppings you have already created (e.g. whipped cream, chocolate chips, sprinkles at 0.30€)
Confirm and save
- Link the proposal to the main article
In the article Ice cream 1 scoop, go to Proposal → Add
Select Ice cream topping and save.
Cash register results
- During the sale, the system first displays the choice of fragrances (free of charge).
- Next, the toppings window appears.
- The customer can choose extras or skip this step.
- The total price is updated automatically (e.g. 1.50€ + 0.30€ for whipped cream).
